This is a true 6-head machine with 6 heads on the video drum (I counted them!). This improves the ability to play tapes recorded in EP modes from older machines that had non-standard 26µ heads. It has a switch to turn off the 19µ heads to improve the playback of tapes made on older machines. So, if you have a collection of recordings at EP speed from machines made before 1996, then this is the machine for you!

The exterior appearance has cosmetic issues and the front panel display is dim but this does not affect the operation or picture quality. See photos for details.

NOTE: As of June 12, 2009, equipment with legacy analog tuners like this one are unable to receive over-the-air broadcasts via antenna due to the transition to digital broadcasting. If you want to record off the air you need to supply the signal from an "ATSC tuner" (Digital TV Converter) or the audio/video signal from another device.
